Tips for a Successful Verification
To help your documents pass verification on the first try, make sure that:
- Your photograph is the original document, NOT a photocopy or screenshot.
- The document is valid, in good condition, and belongs to you.
- The image is clear, in colour, and easy to read.
- All four corners of the document are visible.
- There is no glare, shadow, or blur covering any important info.
- Your fingers or other objects aren't covering any part of the document.
- You provide both the front and the back of the document.
- The image isn't cropped, filtered, or edited.
- Your proof of address clearly shows your full name, residential address, and document date.
- The details on the document match the info entered in your application.
For the clearest image, place your document on a flat surface in a well-lit area. Hold your phone directly above it, and avoid direct light that could create glare.
Taking Your Selfie
You'll also be guided through taking a selfie so the system can confirm you're the person shown on your identity document.
What Happens Next?
Most checks are completed automatically. If a document is unclear or additional information is needed, you'll be asked to submit another document. Once verification is complete, your MarketMates account can be approved.
