Open Position Sizing Game

What the game shows

The game draws simplified trading outcomes from a chosen system. You cannot choose the next outcome, but you can choose the risk per trade. This helps show why a system with positive expectancy can still suffer a damaging run of losses.

  1. Choose a system

Select a System preset or choose Custom setup to enter Win probability, Average win, R and Average loss, R. These describe the model, not a forecast for your own strategy.

  2. Set the round and starting equity

Enter Trades per round and Starting equity. Set Risk per trade to the percentage you want to explore. The percentage buttons are scenario shortcuts, not recommendations.

  3. Run the trades

Choose Take next trade to see individual outcomes, or Auto-run round to play through the round. Watch the equity curve, realised win rate and maximum drawdown as the sequence develops.

  4. Compare a different risk level

Record the result, then start a New game and test a different risk percentage with the same system assumptions. Repeat several rounds: the random sequence can change, so one better result does not prove that a risk setting is safer.

How to read the result

System expectancy is the model’s average outcome per trade. Realised win rate and ending equity describe the round you just played. A short round may look very different from the long-run probabilities.
