What is the spread?

The spread is the difference between the buy price and the sell price. It exists in the underlying market and can become narrower or wider as prices, liquidity and market conditions change.

What is a spread markup?

A spread markup is an extra amount a broker adds on top of the raw market spread. MarketMates does not add this extra amount.

Is commission separate from the spread?

Yes. You receive the raw market spread with no additional MarketMates markup, and commission is charged separately at US$25 per US$1 million of trade value.

Are the conditions the same on challenge and funded accounts?

Yes. The spread conditions and fees on a MarketMates challenge account are the same as the conditions on the funded account after you pass the challenge.
